f you need proof, look no further than the General Services Administration (GSA), a massive government agency that handles everything from federal buildings and office space to communications to purchasing for the federal government.
You’ve probably heard about how GSA officials have been living large on the American taxpayer’s dime. They spent more than $820,000 on a lavish Las Vegas conference for 300 people that included luxury hotel suites, a mind reader, clowns, and gourmet food. They spent so much that the party ended up being $600,000 over budget. Then, when members of Congress asked to see the bills, GSA leaders stalled. They kept their secrets for more than a year, until an investigator finally uncovered the details of this part – and other overspending at GSA. read on

Now more than ever we need to give America’s small businesses a much needed boost. I was pleased to join a majority of the House in supporting the Small Business Tax Cut Act. This pro-growth proposal will provide every small business that employs fewer than 500 people with a 20 percent deduction, helping them provide more new jobs. read on
Washington, DC – The President signed into law a bipartisan bill sponsored by U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) in the Senate and Rep. Scott Tipton (R-CO) in the House to expand membership in Blue Star Mothers of America to more mothers of current or former military service members.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio is stepping up efforts to protect private property rights from federal encroachment with critical votes and new legislation. Specifically, Rubio voted against a provision that would allow the federal government to take over millions of additional acres of private land. He also co-sponsored new legislation that would protect private property owners from over-regulation from the Environmental Protection Agency.
“Congress must do more to protect private property owners from an out-of-control EPA,” said Rubio. “The Administration has shown a consistent disregard for private property rights, and I will continue to fight this federal overreach into Americans’ backyards.” read on
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after today’s RESTORE Act vote:
“Today’s RESTORE Act is far different than the one I proudly supported last July. What started as a genuine bipartisan effort to dedicate as much BP fine money as possible towards Gulf Coast restoration has now turned into a raw deal that increases taxes, creates a new environmental bureaucracy, and could steer money to places like the Great Lakes and West coast that had nothing to with the oil spill. This is no longer a Gulf Coast restoration bill, it’s a federal power grab that exploits the BP spill to pay for special interest projects driven by the usual ‘what’s in it for me’ Washington mentality. I will not support raising taxes to pay for BP’s mess or to pay for new spending projects across the country that have nothing to do with Gulf Coast restoration. It’s unfortunate to see a good idea to help people along the Gulf Coast be turned into another Washington tax-and-spend feeding frenzy.”
Representative Sandy Adams (FL-24) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 3606, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act). House Republicans’ JOBS Act, which has received the endorsement of the Obama administration, is comprised of six financial services bills which aim to help small businesses get off the ground by giving them access to capital and removing regulations that are standing in the way of job growth. read on
